I'm not sure whether a weekend workshop is right for me?

We understand. Sometimes just turning up can be the biggest leap someone makes. If you'd prefer to talk things through with one of our friendly facilitators first, then simply drop us a line and we'll arrange a call. Alternatively, our free weekly check-in meetings (javascript:void(0))can be a more gentle introduction. Whatever you choose, we guarantee you a warm welcome.

Question 2

What happens once I've booked a workshop?

Congratulations! A week to ten days before the course starts you'll be sent a kit list of items you need to bring, and you'll be asked to provide some basic information to help our facilitators ensure you get the very best out of the weekend.

If I can't make it can I get a refund?

Drop us a line as soon as your plans change and we'll always try to offer you a place on an alternative course.

Question 4

What facilities are available during the workshop?

Accommodation is basic but comfortable. We provide tents, sleeping bags and beds together with toileting facilities. We'll even throw in a pair of earplugs! Our on-site chefs pride themselves on providing delicious home-cooked food.

Question 5

I'd love to come along but I don't think I can afford it?

Can you cater for any dietary requirements?

Our on-site chefs will try to accomodate any dietary requirements received in advance. Please ensure you let us know at the time of booking.

What type of people will be there?

Literally all sorts! We believe the diversity of our workshops is what makes them so unique. Participants have included police officers, ex-offenders, armed forces, CEOs, carers, teachers, builders, firefighters and many more. The age range has been from 18 to 60+

What kind of difficulties are people facing?

Again, it's a very diverse range. We have a saying at The CIP Project that there is no league table in trauma. Past participants have included those dealing with addiction, sexual abuse, depression, bereavement, eating disorders, PTSD, relationship breakdown or just a general feeling of being lost, or not achieving to their full potential. Whatever difficulties you may be facing in life, no matter how large or small they may feel, you are welcome here.

I have some additional needs, can I still attend?

At the CIP Project, we're committed to supporting inclusivity and enabling access to everything we do, wherever possible.

Past participants have included those who are neurodivergent, including ADHD and autism. While the terrain is largely flat at the CIP Project's site in Devon, the workshops also utilise an area of small woodland with uneven ground that may require additional planning for wheelchair users.

Question 10

I'm going to be late, or can I leave early?

We operate on a closed group basis, and so cannot start until every participant has arrived, and so ask you to make every effort to arrive on time. Please bear in mind the roads to Devon tend to be busy on a Friday, particularly during the summer months. We ask for you to commit to the entire workshop, to preserve the unity of the group.

Whereabouts are you?

Our workshops are based in a secluded spot near to Clayhidon in Devon. To deter sightseers detailed directions will only be sent once you've signed up.

Is there drinking water available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, drinking water will be available at all times

Question 13

Can I charge my mobile phone?

Accepted Answer

Whilst we encourage you to use this time away to avoid using your mobile phone, we recognise the need to be in touch for emergencies. There is no mains power on site, so if you need to recharge your phone then we suggest using your car battery or bringing a charger pack.

Can I make a donation to support your bursary fund?

Absolutely! As a not-for-profit organisation we're grateful for any donations, no matter how large or small. Simply get in touch and we'd be only too happy to hear from you.
